Salvador del Solar Bio

Born in Peru, Salvador first gained international recognition for his starring role in Francisco Lombardi’s PANTALEON Y LAS VISITADORAS (2000), based on the novel by Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa, for which he won several best actor awards in film festivals around the world. Since then he has worked extensively on television in several countries in Latin America, most recently in very successful series such as CORREO DE INOCENTES, EL CAPO and COMANDO ELITE.

He has appeared in films such as EL BIEN ESQUIVO (2001); EL ACUARELISTA (2008) and GREETINGS TO THE DEVIL (2011). He is also a lawyer and holds a master degree on international Relations. From 2003 to 2005 he was a professor of Political Communication at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and from 2003 to 2004 presented the political interview program ESTA SEMANA in Peruvian television.

Salvador has just finished shooting his first film as director, entitled MAGALLANES, starring Damian Alcazar, Magaly Solier and Federico Luppi, which has just been selected for the prestigious “Cine en Construcción” section at the San Sebastián film festival in September 2014.  Salvador recently starred in the feature film “El Elephante Desaparecido” (The Vanished Elephant) directed by fellow Peruvian Javier Fuentes Leon.
